When we think of health and wellness, we usually talk about two big things: what you eat, and how much you move. I’m here to tell you that there’s way more to staying healthy than just that. Sometimes, we get so caught up with dieting and exercising that we forget about the other ways we can make sure we’re keeping our bodies in tip-top shape.
Today, I want to show you four new ways to stay healthy. They have nothing to do with how many vegetables you’re eating, or how many steps you walked. I’m going to show you some unique ways you can treat your body and make it stronger!
1. Vitamins and Supplements!
Let’s face it – getting the nutrients we need can be tough. Even if you’re on a diet, it’s hard to make sure that you’re consuming all the right things to keep your body going. That’s why I always try to take supplement pills or vitamins. They’re like insurance – they help you make sure that whatever you’re eating, you’re definitely getting enough of the vitals on a daily basis.
All that being said, figuring out what vitamins to take is usually way harder than we’d like. There are lots of different brands out there, and it’s hard to tell which supplements are actually good quality. If you want to be healthy, I would highly recommend checking out companies like Ritual.
If you’re a woman who wants to start taking supplements, Ritual does all the boring research work for you and takes the guesswork out of the process. Their pills contain all the essentials for women to stay healthy, so you don’t have to worry about figuring out which vitamins to take. Plus, the ingredients in their pills are all in forms that your body can actually process. Yeah, some other vitamin companies don’t even guarantee that.
It’s a no-brainer – if you want to take vitamins and you don’t know where to start, Ritual is the place to go for an affordable foundation to your new routine.
A lot of skincare items are advertised as beauty or self-care products – but I’m here to set the record straight. Taking care of your skin is something you need to take seriously if you want to be healthy. Your skin is your biggest organ, after all! A lot of your health and wellness can depend on your skin being healthy.
Skincare isn’t just about your skin looking nice. It’s also about making sure that your skin is strong enough to protect your body the way it’s meant to do. Your skin keeps you safe from all the gross viruses and bacteria you can be exposed to on a daily basis; plus, it protects you from UV rays and other rays that can harm your body. Skin also produces vitamin D for you, keeps your body temperature constant, and helps you respond to external stimuli! Our skin does so much for us, so keeping it healthy is vital for our overall wellness.
So how can you take care of your skin? There’s a lot of skincare products out there, after all. To make sure you’re getting the best bang for your buck, look for skincare brands that actually make their products based on scientific research. For example, Exposed Skincare is a great company that blends scientific concepts with natural ingredients to bring you the best skincare products. They help you figure out what products will work best for your skin, which is so helpful to beginners! And since they base their products in science, you can trust their products to actually make your skin healthier in the long run – not just smell good and make your face feel nice for a couple hours.
Staying hygienic is also super important to your health. After you exercise, it’s obvious we should have some sort of healthy way to get clean again – but this is something we may not consider as much as we should. Think about it. Do you really know what’s in your body wash? Your toothpaste? Your deodorant? Most of the time, we have no idea, even though these are products we’re slathering all over our bodies every day!
And we should care about what’s in these products. Good hygiene is a major part of our health – it keeps germs and illnesses at bay, and also makes social interactions healthier. Hygiene doesn’t just affect your own wellness – it affects the wellness of everyone around you.
Thankfully, there are places that offer actually healthy hygiene products at decent prices. After all, if there’s something you shouldn’t hesitate to invest in, it’s your health. Nature is one of these companies. With natural deodorant, body wash, and toothpaste products, Nature offers healthy, natural ways to take care of your hygiene. With their products, you can make sure your body is as clean and as healthy as can be!
4. Essential Oils!
Okay, so maybe this point isn’t exactly vital to your health… but hear me out! Essential oils can be a great way to improve your wellness, like a cherry on top of your healthy sundae. Used properly, they can give you a boost in whatever you need, right when you need it most.
Let’s start at the beginning. Essential oils are oils that contain the “essence” of whatever plant they’re extracted from. You can either diffuse them, apply them directly to your skin, or even mix them in with your cleaning products to make your house a healthier space. Most essential oils are targeted towards stress relief and mood improvement, which are important components of mental health and self-care.
But that’s not all essential oils are good for. They can help you with your physical health as well! For example, Rocky Mountain Oils sells essential oil collections that help you get better sleep. We all know we should be getting 8 hours of quality sleep every night, but that might be a hard goal to hit sometimes. Essential oils can help you get to sleep faster, and have higher quality sleep.
Rocky Mountain Oils also has a collection of oils which can give you more energy! Think about all the times you’ve wanted to work out but felt too lethargic to put on your exercise clothes, or actually get to the gym. I know for me, that happens more often than I’d like to admit. This collection of essential oils could save the day and give you that boost of energy you need to put your sneakers on and get out the door!
If you have one takeaway from this section, let it be this: yeah, essential oils might not be essential to your wellness regime, but they sure can help in a bunch of different ways!
